How can i tell the year of these remo roto's? I think early to mid 80's any info would be nice. Thank you.

ANSWER

Hi, Doug--

One good way to determine the year of manufacture is to look at the way the toms are mounted on the rail. There are 3 basic configurations:

1. Up to about 1978, there was no arm to release the toms from the rail

2. From the late 70's to the early 80's there were carriage bolts with a built in tightening lever.

3. From early to late 80's was the 2nd generation arm which looked like a large bolt with a lever on which a large "REMO" appeared in raised letters.
