Stop Locks for Tom Mounts--Proper Set Up

I seem to be having a problem with the stop locks on my tom arms. The wing nuts are hitting the locks before i can tighten them up all the way. what am I doing wrong?

Hi, Jed--

It's kind of hard to tell since I can't see the drums, but make sure that the open side of the stop lock is facing OUTWARD--away from the wing nut.

If this doesn't help, maybe you could send a picture of the problem.
