12-Bar Blues Chord Progression Chart

Hello, I am currently taking a course in guitar and our first assignment is 12-Bar Blues Chord Progression in A Major/minor Variation 1 (Open Position). I understand the gist of it but I do not understand what our instructor actually wants us to play using the chart we have been given. He gives us the progression,
I

|| A5 / / / | / / / / | / / / / | / / / / |

IV I

| D5 / / / | / / / / | A5 / / / | / / / / |

V I

| E5 / / / | / / / / | A5 / / / | / / / / ||

and tells us that we will use the A5, D5, and E5 power chords (two string versions). I understand how to play the power chords but, I don't know how to play the actual progression. Some help would be greatly appreciated.
