What Does L.H. Over Mean? (Piano Music)

by Hiya Kabir
(Florida)

"LH over" is in red

I am a beginner piano player and in my sheet music, it says LH Over on top of the treble clef. What does that mean?
The picture is one i made on Paint so sorry if there are mistakes on it though I tried to copy it directly from the book (Alfred's Premier Piano Course Lesson 1B p.22)

ANSWER

Hi, Hiya--

The "L.H. Over" means that you cross your left hand over your right hand and play the "C" above Middle C with the 3rd finger of your Left Hand.

You will want to check out our Absolutely Free Piano Lessons, where you will find tons of free lessons and other valuable free resources to help with your playing.

Best Wishes,
Lynne
