Polishing Cymbals--Do You Polish the Bottom?

Do you polish the bottom of a drum kit cymbal?

ANSWER

Of course, there are those who say never to polish ANY part of your cymbals. In my opinion, it is desirable and harmless to clean BOTH sides of your cymbals providing that you use a non-abrasive cleaner and rum in the direction of the grooves.
