Pearl Export Drum Kit--What KInd of Wood?

by Cody Breeze

Early 90's Pearl Export Drum Kit

Early 90's Pearl Export Drum Kit

what kind of wood and how many ply are early 1990s pearl exports?

ANSWER

Hi, Cody--

If these drums were made before 1994, these drums are most likely 8 plies of mahogany (luan) with a inner ply of Birch.

After 1994, Pearl used various different woods, so it would be difficult to know for sure without seeing the wood.

Brand Name Question
by: Anonymous

Does anyone know anything about the brand: "Drums in the Wind" ??? I've been searching online for years to try and find this brand. I have a 5 piece set with this brand name's emblem on every drum. I'm curious as to whether it's rare, cheap, or maybe really good quality. Let me know!! Thanks.
