Jeff Beck Strat 93 or Vintage Fender 79--Which one should I buy?

by sam issa
(london england)

Hi

i have a choice to buy a fender jeff beck 93 model with lace sencor in sea foamgreen in good condition all original with original case.

also I've got a choice of a fender vintage 79 model in white in good condition but it was refinished in white again and the bridge pickup has been replaced with a di marzio pickupfrom the 80s.

They both are the same money around 1200 dollars.
which one would hold its value in time?

and can you tell me the value of each guitar?
many thanks .

Sam

ANSWER

Hi, Sam--

I would definitely go with the Jeff Beck Strat if you are looking for a guitar that will retain or increase its value.

Original equipment guitars without modifications are always going to be worth more for resale than guitars that have been modified--especially refinished.

fender 79 international colour series
by: sam

hi there,i took your advice and did not go for either fender strat, instead i got a 1979 fender international colour series, for 1500 dollars, but its mint condition not played for the last 31 years.it was bought in 79 and stored all these years ,its like it just left the factory yesterday, its hard to find a strat in that condition, and it sound amazing,i am luckiest man on the planet.
thanks for the advice, you are the best.

Congrat's, Sam!
