Fender Telecaster--Static with Neck Pickup
by miguel
(fontana ca.)
I have a fender telecaster (1995) that has a static noise that comes from the neck pickup when I strum the guitar but when I change to the bridge pickup the guitar sound fine and no static. does this mean i should change the pickup or a bad connection?
Hi Miguel--
It is difficult to tell without seeing and hearing the guitar. Given the age of the guitar, it could be either.I kind of lean toward the bad connection idea since it is a static noise. If the pickup is still sounding powerful enough except for the static, then it is probably the connection.
The best thing to do is have it checked out by a qualified service person. Then you would know for sure.
Best Wishes, Lynne
