Converting a Floor Tom to a Bass Drum

I wanted to convert an 18 inch floor tom to a bass drum.
I ordered a bass drum head to be used as the batter head on this conversion.
the bass drum head won't fit on the tom.

Why?

ANSWER

Hi, Ron--

It will not fit because bass drum heads are made to go on bass drum hoops. You will need to buy a conversion kit.
