Converted Floor Tom Riser

by Scott
(Boston, MA)

I have a Sonor Force 2001 kit and I usually play with a four piece set-up, so I converted my 16" by 16" floor tom to a bass drum. The spurs that came on the 22" bass drum fit right into the floor tom brackets, but being so small, the drum needs to be raised off the ground.

Will the Gibraltar kick riser work for a 16" drum (it says it is for 18" drums)? Or if not, is there a relatively inexpensive alternative that will? (I've looked at the DW and Danmar cradles, but I don't think I want to spend more than like $40)

I just have the regular triple-flanged rims on the drum, but they are mounted upside-down to accommodate the bass drum heads.

Thank you for any advice you can offer.

ANSWER

Hi, Scott--

Check out the "Baby Kick" line of risers. They are relatively inexpensive and will work with 16" drum. You may have to use different spurs--available here also. I am not sure about the backward rims but you could see what you think.
Here is the link to the product page at Drummaker.com

I could not link to the specific page so you will have to scroll on the left down to "BD Risers".

Hope this helps and Good Luck!
