Bass Guitars with 4 Per Side Tuners

Hi
My boyfriend wants a bass guitar for christmas, I found one but he said he wants all of the string tuning thing ( sorry i don't know the correct names)
on the same side, rather than two on each side.
If i were to google this to find guitars like that, what would i need to ask,

Hi, Talia--

You are looking for a bass with 4 per side tuners. I tried Google but found no satisfactory results.

Some brands of basses are configured this way--notably Fender. Try going to ZZounds Bass Guitars and look at all of the basses with all of the tuners on one side.
