serial number 50481..that is all I know about it except I bought it new in 1977..I was curious about it's value..it has a few dings on the front but the rest is mint..I love it and it plays and looks like my martin HD 28..also can the surface dings be repaired ? Thanks a bunch!
Bill

ANSWER

Hi, Bill--

The Blue Book has this to say about Yamaki guitars: (Which they list only under the name of Daion)

"Instruments previously built in Nagoya, Japan circa late 1970s through the mid-1980s by Terada Guitars. Some guitars may also carry the trademark of Joodee or Yamaki. Distributed by MCI, Inc. of Waco, TX.
Originally, these Japanese-produced high quality guitars were based on popular U.S. designs in the 1970s, but turned to original designs in the 1980s"

The listings for these guitars are all similar--all dreadnought style, all made during the late 70's and early 80's. The prices are also all similar--ranging from $275-425.

Without a more detailed description of your guitar, that is the best I can do.

The surface dings can be repaired by a qualified repair person, but any repairs will lessen the value of the guitar.

Hot Hack
by: Jim

I've had my Yamaki a number of years now.#20510- AY331W model Dreadnought and this guitar has a hot sound and plays well. It's still straight as an arrow with no work done to it. Deeper lows and a nice ring to the highs. I've played Martins and Fenders and wouldn't trade for anything.
Seems like any musicians who play it, want it.

Yamaki Acoustic
by: Michael

Dug mine out of storage (also bought ~1972?) and the tag inside the body also has 115. Assume that's a model number?

Sweet guitar.

Yamaki # 115 1973
by: Kathy

I have a Yamaki No. 115, made 2/9/1973. Is this one in the book? What's it worth? I bought it at a garage sale for $60, thinking it was maybe not much of a guitar, but fun to have.
