Yamaha NO. 100 Nippon Gakki

by Marc
(Fishers, IN)

I purchased this guitar at a garage sale recently. I have been considering learning to play again (it has been 30 years...). I was just curious of the ballpark value of this guitar. I contacted Yamaha by phone & was told this was produced from '64-'67, but they were unable to give me any idea of the value. There is NO fret wear & the body is probably an 8.5/10 w/ some small dings (solid w/ no cracks or repairs).
Could you let me know what it is worth & what woods/types were used in the construction.

Thanks, Marc

ANSWER

Hi, Marc--

The guitar is made of the following materials:

Top: Spruce
Back and Sides: Laminated Mahogany
Neck and Fretboard: Nato and Rosewood

The guitar is not listed in the Blue Book, but on the internet, they are selling for $80 to $165.

Lynne

you have the materials listed incorrectly for the Nippon Gakki Yamaha No 100. the no 100, 120 and 150 are all made from solid woods. Maple , Mahogany and Rosewood respectively. I have confirmed this with numerous sources.
