yamaha g-50a nippon gakk

yamaha g-50a nippon gakk

Trying to price this for trade or sell... it does not say made in taiwan like the rest it is in average to good condition(nothing serious just normal wear for old guitars) has new strings and plays great and looks lovely too! serial is 1132447
and on the inside it says yamaha
G-50a
nippon gakki c0.ltd.

ANSWER

Hi, Chris-

Here is the Blue Book info:

- similar to the CG40 A, except has judaswood back/sides, bubinga fretboard, red/black rosette, pearl tuner buttons, mfg. 1970-73.

Excellent $80 - 110

Average $40 - 60

Lynne

Yamaha G50A
by: Bruce

I found one of these in very good condition for sixty dollars. The only thing I didn't like were the tuners, which were really cheesy. I replaced them with decent tuners found on EBay. The original saddle was replaced with bone and shaped for a little lower action. Despite having a laminate top, the sound is quite good. The nato wood neck stays nice and straight through the changes in season (Ohio). Of the guitars I share with my son, this is the only classical. Despite the higher action, the tonal nuances have me playing the G50A more often.

Yamaha G-50A

I've owned my G-50A since I bought it new in 1974. I used it in the '80s & early '90s to teach both of my children how to play.

Even though I have 12 guitars in my collection, including 3 Martins & a Yamaha CGX171CCA, I wouldn't trade this one away even though it's worth only about $50 or so. The wood has opened up very nicely. The tone is rich & open & the whole guitar is still in great shape. I keep this one in my bedroom and still play it often. It was well worth picking up! :-)

I have my moms guitar. She bought it when she was in high school. It's in beautiful shape.sounds great too. What I think I have learned though is that it was meant to be for beginners and it was affordable. I do know my mom didn't have alot of money back in the late 60s. Still looks great and sounds nice. Not worth more then what she paid for it.

Amazing guitar. Owned since new in 1990. Had so many sets of strings through it and still sounds as good as the day I bought it. AAA+++ to the Nippon Gakki co.

These blue book prices are so out of whack
by: Anonymous

They must of published this book in the early seventies. I sell guitars all over the world. Sold 200 last year. I know what they're worth. In you can get one of these for 50.00...... you better jump hard and fast.

I have had one for almost 40 years. It's a fantastic guitar, can take a pounding and still sound great. Many happy nights by the camp fire strumming away. Served me well over the years and I'd be lost with out this wonerful guitar. It is the oldest player in my six guitar collection. Old and beat up like me but still works great. One of the best investments I ever made was buying this gem!
