Yahama FG-300A

by Mariann
(Canada)

Hello there.
My name is Mariann Davis, and I'm trying to find out what my guitar is worth. I can't seem to get any information on line.
There is a number at the base of the neck, 40802107.

If you could give me any information it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,
Mariann Davis

ANSWER

Hi, Mariann--

You will find a thorough discussion of the Yamaha FG series guitars here:

Yamaha FG 300

There are many comments from owners of FG series guitars and some evaluation advice.

Best Wishes,
Lynne

Love this guitar!

I got this guitar for free from a friend of mine and would never part with it! I am a professional player and have guitars valued as high as $3000 and this is ALWAYS in tune, sounds great and is so easy to play...my go to "beach" guitar but would never want to lose it!!

I picked up a FG-300A with case for $100 on craigslist and couldn't be more pleased. I was looking for an older (I think mine is a 84 or 94), inexpensive acoustic to just have laying around the house that I could pick up when ever I had the urge to play. Now I play this guitar more than any of my other "expensive guitars" because the tone is so rich and it's very comfortable to play with light strings. It's not fancy but for the money, it's probably one of the best values for an acoustic guitar.

With due respect . . not much. Maybe $75 at best. I have one .. wouldn't part with it because of it's great sound and ease of playing. I think I paid around $200 in the 70's. Would certainly be a good beginner guitar. Maybe have a music shop clean it up and give it to a close friend. . unless you want to learn to play.
