by Rudy

????????

Has anyone ever seen or know anything about this guitar style? It has been in the family for a very long time, and would appreciate anything anyone would be willing to share with me. rudy.823@hotmail.com

LYRE GUITAR REMARKS + +
by: D.L.C.

I'm 77years old and I've seen afew of these old guitars but I've never played or handled one. I started playing guitar at 12 years old, taught by my Dad to play several stringed instrument but I learned to play the harmonica on my own and one day realized I was playing it backwards; and I still do, never could master playing it right. I use a holder and play along with my guitar. I'm not always this mixed up; sometimes I'm worse.

Have a wonderful Day!!

what kind guitar is this
by: dave correll

There is a couple of these guitars in the Goshen,Indiana Museum. They were made by Josiah Oliver Wright of Goshen. I purchased from Goodwill at logansport Indiana a round guitar made by Joe(as he was locaclly known)and sold it to a school professor who wanted it for that museum also.He gave me a book he had written about Joe Wright with several pictures of Joe's work and Joe's picture also. I think the museum has the books for sale also. NOTICE! Joe signed the guitar I had with lead pencil and dated it; I almost overlooked it because it was hard to see;it read:"MadebyJ.O.Wright,Goshen,Indiana,March 1945"
