WHAMMY BAR

by ThAmAn

I just bought a brand new Crescent electric guitar and it came with a screw in whammy bar, but when i screwed it in it won't move toward the body of the guitar. I'm just now learning how to play, and I don't know a lot about them. Am I using it wrong or what?

ANSWER

The whammy bar operates on springs, so maybe one of the springs is not attached or is broken. You also might try loosening the bar a bit--maybe it is screwed in too tight.

Other than that, it is hard to tell what is wrong without actually seeing the guitar. Maybe you could take it back where you bought it and ask them?
