Vintage Gibson guitar

I know nothing about guitars. My husband got this when he was a kid, it was used when he got it, at least 50 yrs old now...
Please help me to find out what it is, what it might be worth, and if one of you all want to buy it, Great. I thought about listing it on ebay but I dont know how to describe it or what kind of Gibson it is.

hi- I live in Darwin Australia and have inherited an S S Stewart guitar from my deceased father-in-law.

He used to play on Sydney radio in the early 1950's and imported the guitar from the USA at that time.I took it to a music store in 2008 and the guy was going to have ut appraied but he then left town-he said it is in pristine condition- I know nothing about guitars.He said it is a model 2020 and the number appears to be 0174 although it is hard to read.

Can anyone advise me as to it's worth as it is just sitting here in a cupboard.? email address is lynholly2@bigpond.com
