Value of a 1976 Jose Ramirez 1A classical guitar

by Doug Smith
(Colfax, North Carolina)

I have a 1976 Jose Ramirez guitar that I bought directly from Mr. Ramirez in 1976. The guitar is in excellent condition except for one tiny ding on the lower front. I also placed a very small piece of striker plate directly behind the bridge. This guitar has an incredible tone. How much do you think this guitar is worth?

Thank you,
Doug Smith

ANSWER

Hi Doug--

It is very difficult to chase down these Ramirez guitars as they are not listed in the Blue Book.

You might want to contact the Ramirez company. They are a family owned business and are very proud of their guitars. Perhaps they could be of assistance:

Best Wishes,
Lynne
