ANSWER

Are you sure about the model? I found no evidence of an EF 39 model. There IS a model EF 391, but it is not listed in the Blue Book. I did see one advertised used for $600.

I have a blue Takamine akustik with golden stings keys, i bought if early 1990, its have a curving of EST1962 just in front,i wonder what wood it is made of?! if some one like to see it i can send few pictures.

I have a 1984 Blue EF 391 I got the year from Takamine I just E-mailed them the serial # New price in 84 was About $800.00 US. Thats all I know I was thinking of selling it but with all the good reviews I think I'll keep it for a while

I have a Takamine EF 391 MR (4BAND) ser#84051685 I can't find a year. have no idea what it is worth. I would like to sell it though. Anyone know the year or value? I have original hard case with Takamine label on it. The guitar is red burst and in excellent condition.

I just bought one here in Germany for around 400?. I believe that the price I paid is below what this guitar is really worth. I am picking it up in the morning and will comment back after I have had it a few days. One thing is for sure: This is a rare guitar!

Yes, I'm sure - I'm looking at it right now.
EF 39|-MR
It's a beautiful Wine Red, Quilted Maple, Arch-Top with Mahogany neck & Rosewood fingerboard.
I've had it since '89/90 and like you I can't find any listings/values for it.
Let's hope someone out there can help further.
