Silvertone #1418

by jon t griesser
(kapaau hi usa)

This guitar was made in japan and I'm trying to see how much it is worth.

ANSWER

Hi, Jon--
Silvertone was a Sears label. This model is not listed separately in the Blue Book. It was likely made for Sears by Teisco. Here is some general info from the Blue Book:

"However, mid-1960s models were built in Japan by Teisco, as well! As most Silvertones were sold either through the catalog or in a store, they will generally be entry level quality instruments."

I could not find any other information on this model by researching the internet. Most of the Silvertones are valued at $100-$400.

If this is an "amp in case" guitar, it will be worth more.

Sorry I could not be more specific.

Lynne

Worth & Value
by: Dan Rowland

All these questions re "how much is my guitar worth?"
are, for the most part, meaningless.

There is a significant and huge difference between 'worth'
and 'value'...everyone wants their guitar to be 'worth'
a lot of money, so that they can congratulate themselves.

Your guitar is not 'worth' much if it lives under the bed
or in the closet...and a guitar that is functional and
"played" is worth a lot more than the same item that
is only brought out for Antiques Roadshow.

If you do not play your instrument it is "virtually worthless"
If it is too fragile to play, it is "virtually worthless"

Songs, like guitars, are "worth determined" if they are unique
and functional. Treat both accordingly.
