Rossetti Lucky Seven

by John
(Manchester)

1960/1961

Electro acoustic, good condition even original bag

ANSWER

Hi, John--

Rossetti Guitars are not listed by model in the Blue Book. The "Lucky Seven" was actually an "EGMOND" guitar.

Here is what the Blue Book says:

"In response to the pop music boom of the 1960s, guitar companies kept turning out instruments to try to meet the generated demand. These entry level guitars were aimed at the novice guitar player, and featured a line of Dutch-built solid and semi-hollow body designs. Used models are typically are found between $250 and $450."

I did find a Lucky Seven on the internet but it was already sold--no price mentioned.

rosetti guitar
by: ian

hi every one,i am trying to find some history for a guitar i have,it's a rosetti lucky star & it looks a bit like a e335,it has 1 pick up,the neck has no truss rod & is a full hollow body, the serial number on the back of the head stock is 1721127.
i'm thinking of bringing it up to date with a modern paint job & upgrading all the machine heads & electrics but if i can get some info on it then i may do a natural restoration .
any information would be gratefully accepted.many thanks .ian.

Rossetti/Egmond Lucky 7 Bass
by: Ron

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a suitable lead or connector for this old Bass guitar. The pickup socket is 4mm in diameter. I was wondering if I could make one up from a games battery charging lead. Yours gratefully one unplugged bassist.

Electric or acoustic strings?
by: Anonymous

I've had a lucky seven since the late 50's when I was a kid. The pick up and valve powered amp disappeared over the years, so I've just got the guitar. Mine had a bridge that was adjustable with wheels but, to answer a question, I took it off and just used the wooden part which lowered the action a lot. I want to resurrect it now, but it needs new strings as it still has the metal ones that were on it when I bought it. Because I don't have a pickup or amp I don't know if I should buy electric strings or acoustic. Any advice would be welcome.

Egmond Lucky 7 with nylon strings ?
by: Anonymous

Hi,

I just picked up a Lucky seven with nylon strings on it. Sounds fine, I'm just wondering if the neck is solid enough to take steel strings.
From what i undertsand no truss rod.

Rosetti guitars
by: Lyndon

I've had a Rosetti f-hole since 1963 (and it was third-hand then!). It has no truss-rod, yet there's never been a problem with the neck. I was disappointed that Vintage Guitar magazine's 2010 price guide didn't include a section on Rosetti.

Egmond/Rossetti
by: Ray

Just bought a body/neck with machine heads (Super Solid 7 by Rossetti). Have not got the slightest idea as to where to buy parts as it needs pickguard/pickups and bridge.
When I bought this guitar less its parts I did not look deep enough into the history. I did think that I could have routed out for pickups and electrics and made a one off special.
Looks like I shall have to see if I can move it on. There is too much work involved with my limited knowledge.

My Rosetti Lucky Seven
by: Anonymous

I have had a Rosetti Lucky Seven acoustic guitar since autumn 1964 and I would never consider parting from it not even for a more expensive instrument. In 1965 I purchased a Hoffner pickup and a secondhand amp which had a tremolo effect and was really pleased with the sounds produced. Sadly the equipment failed to work after a couple of years and it was not until just after last Christmas I bought a pickup, amp and more recently an effects pedal.
My only regret with my guitar is the distance of the strings from the fretboard particularly from the 6th upwards which makes fingering difficult for the higher notes. Does anyone know if a shallower bridge could be fitted to this model.

EGMOND PRICE ESTIMATE
by: Anonymous

I think the price estimate is not exact. I have seen the guitar sell for over $800 on ebay.
