Piano Proficiency Level

At what level for example would you or should you be able to play something like Franz Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 or George Malcolm's harpsichord piece called "Bach before the Mast"?

Thanks

Jim

ANSWER

Hi, Jim--

Both pieces are at an "advanced" level. In general, however, I do not put a lot of importance on "level". If you want to play a piece, try it. If, after much practice, you are not ready for it, try again later.

Good luck!
Lynne

Lynne, Jim, jb,

A HIGH FIVE goes out to you!! It's kind of like
SETTING GOALS and FOLLOWING DREAMS.........

Though it's coming close to forty years since
I took piano lessons as a child, I've recently regained my interest in listening to and playing the piano and among my list of GOALS and DREAMS
are 1. Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata 2. Claudine
3. Circle of Life!!!!!
