Ovation 1117-1
by Thomas White
(Ocala,FL.)
I have this guitar that I bought at the Alabama Grill in Pigeon Forge TN.I purchased a new Ovation case to protect it. The guitar plays and sounds great, it rings out real well.I took it to a dealer here in town and he was impressed with the condition it's in. Where there are issues on others like it, they are not present on this one.
Also it is autographed by Sammy Kershaw, the country artist.I also have the certificate of authenticity, as pictured. I don't know if the autograph does anything for the value or not. I would like to thank you in advance for your consideration.I'm looking forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Thomas White
ANSWER
Hi, Thomas--
I did not seem to get a photo--it possible was too large.
Here is the Blue Book general info:
LEGEND (MODEL 1117) Add to Collection
- spruce top, round soundhole, 5-stripe bound body, leaf pattern rosette, 5-piece mahogany/maple neck, 14/20-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl diamond/dot inlay, walnut bridge, walnut veneer on peghead, 3-per-side gold tuners, available in Black, Natural, Sunburst, or White finishes, mfg. 1972-1999.
Without a serial number, I can not be specific as to price, but the ranges for all years are as follows:
Excellent $475-650 with the 1972-1979 models being priced highest.
Average: $325-475
The autograph might add value for the right collector, but I have no way of knowing how much.
Best Wishes,
Lynne
