I was given a Stewart acoustic guitar by a old dear friend the model number is 4025 and the serial number is 5045 i would like to know how old it is and the approx value by the way my last name is Stewart and my friend saved it for 15 years because he said it was made for me.
ANSWER
Hi, Frederick-
Stewart Guitars are not listed in the Blue Book. They made entry level guitars for the Harmony Company in the 1950's.
As far as the value, the fact that they are not listed in the Blue Book reflects a lack of any great demand by collectors, which is what determines the monetary value of a guitar. My best guess would be anywhere from $100. to $200. depending on the condition of the guitar,
Monetary value is, however, secondary in many cases. I am sure that the fact that your friend gave you this guitar makes it extremely valuable in a more important way.
Sorry I could not provide more specific information.
