My Guitar Strings Keep Breaking

I haven't been able to play my guitar for a while because my strings keep breaking. Every time I change my string and re tune the whole guitar and I end up breaking another string. After finally deciding to just change all the strings I still keep breaking my d string. How can I fix this?

ANSWER

This is a difficult question to answer with just the information that you provided.

Are you using the correct strings for the guitar?
Are you tuning it to the correct pitch?
Where are the strings breaking?
What kind of guitar?

The answers to those questions would help to determine cause. A "D" string is fairly hard to break, so there must be some kind of problem with the guitar. Since ALL of the strings have been breaking, maybe there is something wrong at the bridge.

I recommend that you take it to a qualified repair person.

Best Wishes,
Lynne
