Martin D19,Serial#407332

by Berta
(Arkansas)

I inherited a Martin D-19 Serial#407332 along with its original Martin case. The guitar is in excellent shape with no scratches, dings, etc. I've been having problems finding this model listed anywhere.

ANSWER

Hi, Berta--

The serial number indicates a late 1978 manufacture date.

Here is the Blue Book general info:

D-19
- dreadnought body style, solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, round soundhole with three-stripe (5/9/5 grouping) rosette, five-ply top binding with black outer ring, three-ply back binding, mahogany neck, 14/20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, rosewood headstock overlay with logo decal, three-per-side chrome tuners, rosewood bridge, black pickguard, available in Dark Brown finish, 25.4 in. scale, mfg. 1976-1988.

The pricing info:

Excellent $1,650 - 2,000
Average $1,100 - 1,300

Best Wishes,
Lynne

One great guitar
by: Roy in Alaska

Bought a used '79 D-19 last winter... I'm the third owner. This is a very sweet playing/sounding guitar! I don't think I would ever even consider selling this beauty, I love it that much. It's a keeper!

D19
by: Bob

I almost bought one in Mar of 78 but I bought a Guild D25ch instead I belive the Martin was going for $600 back then while I got the D25 for about $268 including case.

The Martin D19 is an up-scale version of the D18
