Martin 00-18 1937
Hi, this is a 1937 sunburst with solid headstock and ebony fingerboard & bridge. Original except for replaced kluson tuners. Small crack to back repaired (many?) years ago. Otherwise no significant dents etc. Excellent player. I'd like an idea of values etc. please. For a pre-war guitar does this count as "average" condition in the Blue book, or to get that does it have to be all original?
many thanks
ANSWER
Here is the Blue Book pricing info:
1934-1944 Excellent $6,500 - 8,000 Average $4,500 - 5,500
***Add 20-30% for Sunburst finish on 1930s models.
The Blue Book prices are geared toward original condition. The small repair will detract from the value a little. The replacement of the tuners will lessen the value more.
Your guitar probably fits in the low-excellent to high-average range.
