Lotus L-80 Acoustic Made in Korea at least 25 years old.

by Greg
(Lake City Tennessee, USA)

Just want to know the value of this guitar? Its in great physical shape, new strings, its tip top shape. Its around 25 years old if not older.

ANSWER

Hi, Greg--

The Blue Book says only this about Lotus Guitars:

"Acoustic guitars previously produced in Korea, China, and/or India during the 1990s. Distributed by Midco International in Effingham, IL.
Lotus is a trademark of Musicorp (previously Midco International). In the 1990s, they offered a wide range of acoustic and electric guitars that were designed for the student and/or entry level player. In the 2000s, Musicorp stopped offering guitars under the Lotus trademark to focus on bluegrass instruments, specifically banjos and mandolins."

**I did some internet research and found very little information except for a couple of guitars for sale at around $75.00.

Best Wishes,
Lynne

Sold to me as first guitar

I have this guitar I got when I was in the seventh grade, and I am in my first year in college - never changed the strings and still sounds great. I know not much about this guitar but it does have an outstanding bass output and a pretty nice look after being polished. This thing is just original and it seems so full of story just I cannot find out much about this guitar!

Guitar Worth

I have a Lotus Guitar L-80, Made in Korea. It's in great shape. Probably has it's 3rd set of strings on it now. It was given to me between 30 to 35 years ago. Just wondering what this could be worth?

Lotus Guitar

I traded 10 sets of strings for a Lotus L80.
I sell guitars but not one of any brand I have has as great a bass as it has.
I have no idea how long the strings have been on it but, they still sound great in open G

I just got this Guitar and tuned it in open "G"
and It sounds great, even better than my fender or my friends Martin.
I sell guitars and this has a bass that is just great and I have yet to change strings.

Yes I have this guitar and I'm curious as well as to how much it costs. Though the thing is, it STILL has all the original strings, every one of them (6 of them) and they still hold a perfect tune. However, my Uncle gave it to me and it has the price tag on it. It said (brand new) it was $149.95 Though this is used and still has all original strings. A few scratches but amazing condition.
