Les Paul Studio 1997 serial no. 90357599
How can i tell which studio model it is? Is it a studio light? Can you tell by the serial no.?
ANSWER
The serial number indicates that your guitar was made at the Nashville Plant, TN, USA February 4th, 1997 Production Number: 299
If it has no pick guard, ebony fingerboard with trapezoid inlay, black chrome hardware, exposed pickups, available in Trans. Black, Trans. Blue (BU) and Trans. Red finishes-- it is a studio light. The studio light was discontinued in 1998.
There was also a double cutaway studio model manufactured in 1997.
The other option is the LES PAUL STUDIO (LPST)which was mmanufactured from 1984-1998 and reintroduced in 2001. This model has a raised black pick guard, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, tune-o-matic bridge/stop tailpiece, three-per-side tuners, chrome hardware, two covered humbucker pickups, four knobs (two v, two tone), three-way pickup switch.
Hope this helps! Lynne
