Hi, Jimmy--

While the difference may not be HUGE, it can be fairly significant with regards to your playing technique.

The biggest difference between a C shaped neck and U shaped neck are the "shoulders" on the U-neck . These are what makes the back of the neck slightly flatter.

Normally a U-neck will be somewhat deeper than a C-neck, especially the "modern" flatter C-neck of the American Standard.
