We just purchased an Pearl Rythum Traveler drum set for our son.
It came with mufler drum heads.
Where and how do you install the mufflers.
Thank you,Millie

ANSWER

Hi, Millie--

Lucky guy, your son! The black mesh heads are meant for practicing. They output very low volume. All you have to do is loosen the lugs, remove the plastic head, then replace the plastic head with the black mesh head and tighten the lugs.

The mesh heads will need to be tuned just like the regular heads. First, tighten the lugs just enough to get the head wrinkle-free. Then choose one lug and tap the head lightly near the lug. Use the drum key to tighten the lug so that you hear a pitch close to the sound you want.

Then go to the lug that is across from the first one and tighten that one so that the head near that lug matches the first pitch. Repeat this cross pattern until all of the lugs are tightened to the desired pitch.

This will be time consuming at first, but as your son gains experience, it will take less and less time.

When your son begins practicing, he will want to check out our Almost Free Drum Tabs!

These are quality drum sheet music presented in traditional notation. They are guaranteed accurate and easy to read.

Your son can can even order custom made drum tabs for ANY song!

Best Wishes,
Lynne

ANSWER

Hi Millie--

I don't know of any site that explains this. It is pretty simple--just take the drums off of the stands, fold the stand if you want. Then you8 can fit all five drums inside a single 20- inch fiber bass-drum case. With the 10-inch tom telescoped inside the 14-inch tom, and the 12-inch tom upside down, fitting around the 10-inch shell, the three toms together make a 9 1/2-inch deep package. The 13-inch snare can be safely placed on top of the 14-inch tom, and this configuration fits on top the bass drum with room to spare for the tom arms and bass drum legs.

Then get a bag for the cymbals and stands and you're good to go. Alternately, you could just stack the drums in the back seat of your car and
carry them that way.
