Ibanez model no: 2454

by dean
(Australia)

Hello Im looking to sell my Ibanez 2454 and would like to find out what its ruffly worth it has 2 small dints one at the bottom back and one on the top left all original.

ANSWER

Hi, Dean--

This guitar is, for some reason, not listed in the Blue Book. It is a copy of the Gibson ES 330, as far as I can tell.

The Ibanez model 2397, which is a copy of the ES 335 IS listed. Here is that pricing info for general reference:

Mint $1,000
Exc.+ $850
Exc. $725
Avg+ $600
Avg $500
General $400

That is the closest I can come. Hope it helps.

...I have the same guitar....I found that it is a 1975 Model 2454 Lawsuit model they were to stop selling and destroy any stock....the lawsuit was an infringement on the headstock crown of Gibson's. It's listed as a semi-hollow, but is actually a full hollow body - cream binding, twin humbuckers, trapeze tail pc., rectangle block inlays, flamey cherry finish, stars on tuners...no visible #'s, although I heard the pickups or pots are numbered? Saw one on E bay Erope everal yrs ago selling for 800 Euro ( $1200 US ) Supposedly pretty rare and a good player. Got mine via barter about 25 yrs ago - played maybe 10 times.
