Ibanez AEG4JP-BK

by Nick
(WI)

How much is it worth?

ANSWER

Hi, Nick--

This model is not listed in the Blue Book. I did, however, find several of them for sale on the internet. Prices range from $125 to $250.

Jp = jam pack, meaning it was a heavily-produced item meant for beginners that came in a box (or pack) that included an p, picks, extra strings, and some sort of instructional book or DVD. The pack would have sold anywhere fr 150 to 200 bucks. Hope this helps anyone that finds this thread. -former gtr cntr employee

Ibanez AEG4JP-BK
by: Chris

This is a great quality guitar for the money. The man I get my guitar lessons from purposely played and picked this instrument out for me. He has played the guitar for 50 years. He tried numerous used high quality guitars to see which was the best. He said by far the Ibanez. For its sound quality and appearance. A bargain at $140.00. Who ever owns one should never let it go.

I purchased one of these guitars at Guitar Center 5 or so years back. The guitar came with an amp, case, extra strings, picks, instructional DVD, and a small chord diagram. The package was originally priced at $450 or so. Guitar Center put it on sale for $100. It is true that this specific model is not in the Blue Book for Acoustic Guitars, however, I did find a small footnote that reads:
"... the letter stands for the month (January = A, February = B, etc.) and the following two digits are the year."
I'm not too sure if this helps you. I know that the "AE" part stands for Acoustic Electric, the "G" is for the specific sound pickup that is used, but as for the "4JP", I'm not too sure. The "BK" is just the color, black. The closest guitar that I was able to find in the blue book was AEG10. The MSR is $420, in 100% condition it is $295, in excellent condition it is $220, and in average condition it is $125. I hope this is useful.
