How to Remove Scratches From a Guitar

by Bob Nutent
(Winter Haven)

Is there a thing that would take off a the scratches of a guitar or bass, and if there is how much would it cost?

ANSWER

Hi, Bob--

First, let me say that if you are interested in ever selling the guitar, any refinishing will considerable lessen the value of the guitar.

If you are just looking for a little cosmetic improvement, this works pretty well:

Dunlop Formula 65 Guitar Polish Kit

I found this product online: Guitar Scratch Remover. it gave me excellent results. It actually does remove the scratches and not just cover or fill them in like some of the other products do.

You can find it online: www.guitarscratchremover.com
