How old is my Dove?

I'm unfortunately going to have to sell my Gibson Dove, but I'm not sure of the year. The production # is A3886989. It was manufacture in Kalamazoo and has a black (with white accents)truss cover. Any help would be great.

Hi, Skip--

The number that you provided--did you mean it to be a serial number? It is not the right format for a Gibson serial number--too many numbers.

I tried leaving off the beginning 3 and the number came up as 1973-75. If that sounds reasonable, here is the Blue Book pricing:

1971-1984
Excellent $2,000 - 2,500
Average $1,000 - 1,200

If that year does not sound right, maybe you could recheck the serial number.
