How Can I Clean Old Drum Heads?

I have a 30 year old set of Ludwig Drums. Is there anything I can use to get old tape and stickers off the part of the drum you hit?

You could try rubbing alcohol. That should remove any glue from the tape and the stickers without damaging the heads.

You might want to consider just replacing the heads. Chances are that 30 year old heads are no longer as responsive as you would like and have lost a lot of their tone. Replacing heads need not be extremely expensive.
