Guitar Chords for Jazz Band

I was wondering.....I'm playing jazz for my school jazz band and I can't seem to play chords that require you to stretch your fingers like super long. Aren't there like other ways to play the same chord?
EX. Cm chord

There are various ways to play EVERY chord. It is a bit hard for me to help because I don't know which "Cm" position is difficult for you.
