Guild S100

Guild S-100

Guild S-100

I'm trying to find out more about this guitar I bought back in the 70's. The only number(s)I found are on the back of the Headstock "SB 300". The number could be S5 300 or S6 300 - it's a little hard to decipher.

Can anyone identify more details on this guitar?

Year made - 1971 I think?

Hello Fred from New Castle, PA

Your S-100 is from 1970. I might be able to date it more precisely but I need some further info from you. If you're interested just get back with me through: www.guitarsgalore.nl

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Serial number details
by: Mike

Your S-100 is probably a '69 model. Guild used the "SB" model designation from 1965-1969, switching to sequential numbers for the entire production run of all models in 1970. SB269 was the last of the 1968's. Guild's own "Date your Guild" spreadsheet is missing the 1969 numbers, showing only "N/A" in that space, but the "SB" tells the story. I have a '72 S-100 myself, amber/brown sunburst with a clear plexi pickguard, number 742-something-something. (You're right about those numbers being hard to read.) Production numders were pretty low in the 60's so your guitar may be worth a bit more than that appraisal suggests.

Hi, If you want more info on your Guilds serial number take the plastic cover on the back of the guitar off carefully and you will find all the serial number and model details on a label on the inside of the plastic cover. Hope this helps
