Guild G45 Hank Williams Jr Acoustic guitar

Guild G45 Hank Williams Jr Acoustic guitar

I bought the guitar a few years back, i dont know any details of it and find it pretty hard to find any for sale,my serial number is ends in 'F6000061' and what i have found out is they are pretty rare. i bought it in a small shop in the UK because it sounds amazing. i would like to know what it's worth now and what year it is etc. it's in great condition.

ANSWER

Hi, Ryan--

You are right--it is rare. It is not listed in the Blue Book at all and I could fine only pictures on the internet.

I did find out that the guitar was developed by Hank Williams Jr. and Guild in about 1984. The fretboard is ebony, the body Maple and the Top is Spruce.

No pricing information was available from my sources. Here is the contact info for Guild:

fake picture of Hanks guitar
by: Jesse James DeBord

this picture is a fake due to the glare on the left and the two-toned color on the front part of the wood. Notice that where the top part of the neck is, why does the color change at that very same lining all the way down in a very straight line, if i may add? Something strange here if you ask me.

I have an even MORE rare Guild. In 1994 they produced a limited run of 20 of the D-65s. It is the body of the G-45 with the neck of a D-55. So maple arched back and sides, spruce top. They finished it off with gold Grover Super-rotomatic tuners with the deco knobs and the signature of the president of the company on the label. I have #11 of 20 made. They were a special run made specifically for Guitar Center and the serial number begins GC. If you ever find one of these, BUY IT!!

Guild G45
by: Chris

I have serial #FG00045 from 1994. It is labeled as a D60-NT, not a G45. The only difference is that they ommitted Hank's signature from the pickguard. I have been told they did this due to poor sales of the G45/Hank Williams Jr. I love mine, bought it new in 1995!!

Guild G45
by: Joe

Hi Ryan,
Yours appears to have been produced in 1994.
This was a re-release of the original G45 that was introduced in 1982.
In 1994 there were 67 made.
Your serial # should be FG0000xx of the 67.
The G45's made starting in 1982 had seal #'s starting with GD10000xx
1982- GD100002
1983- GD1000050
1984- GD1000053
1985- GD1000080
1986- N/A
1987- GD1000089
total 1st run 89
Total 2nd run (like yours) appears to be 67
Hope this helps!

Guild G45
by: Joe

Your Guild G45 is a great guitar. I own one myself.
Mine is the first one made.they were produced over 2 or 3 years in Westerly Rhode Island.
It's been a while since I researched this but if I recall correctly there were only about 87 of them produced.
As for the value, I saw one up for sale at Guitar Centers online used guitars a while back and I believe they were asking $2000-$2500.

Guild G45-BL Hank Williams
by: Paul Dustman

I purchased this guitar in 1994 for $1678. It was my understanding that Hank Jr. received the first 5 serial numbers. My serial number is FG00013. The last serial number produced was FG00067. Current prices (based on auction prices) is between $1300 and $2000, determined by condition and serial number.
