Gibson Les Paul Custom 1971--FOR SALE

by Gary
(Pittsburgh)

I believe it to be a 1971 Gibson Les Paul Custom. The serial number is 738488, It is black w/gold pickup covers and tuners. This is completely original. Only 1 scratch on the back from my belt buckle. The guitar is perfect condition. The white outer strip is yellowing from age.I wanted to know what it is worth.

ANSWER

Hi, Gary--

The serial number does come up 1971. Here is the Blue Book pricing info:

Mint $4,000
Exc.+ $3,200
Exc. $2,700
Avg.+ $2,200
Avg.$1,800
General $1,500

Who Dun It?
by: Anonymous

You realize, of course, by wording your post the way you did, you just accused Geoffrey Gier of theft. Also, your further reference would be the location known as Pleasant HILL, wouldn't it?

70 -72 Les Paul custom
by: Dana

Your guitar sounds like mine...Same era anyway 639392....Made in USA stamp... w/volute.

Gibson website says that era. Made in Nashville or Mich.

I've changed the hardware to all chrome.(I've got the original stuff) never liked the gold.
