Lynne I looked inside of the guitar again and the actual sn is 90488. It is hard to read. It is an f hole guitar. It is definitely an L7. There is a label inside which tell the model, sn, and that it is a genuine Gibson guitar.
ANSWER
Hi, Bill--
Thanks for the serial number. This time the serial number comes up with a 1932 manufacture date. Still very curious, as the L7 has a starting date of 1933. Probably just means that the guitar was manufactured in 1932 in preparation for a 1933 release date.
I still don't know what to make of the difference in necks. Did your Dad buy the guitar NEW? Because I am thinking that there might be the possibility that someone put an L4 neck on an L7 body.
In any case, the Blue Book values remain the same as I sent before IF the guitar is original.
