Gibson J 50 1970
My father once told me that this guitar was one of the last few made in Kalamazoo. A person wanted to give me $1000 for it. It is in great shape.
ANSWERHi, Marty--
The serial number indicates that the guitar was manufactured at Kalamazoo in 1970. The Kalamazoo plant closed in 1984. Gibson serial numbers can be unreliable, though.
Unfortunately, I could find NO pricing info either in the Blue Book or on the internet. Nor could I find any MENTION of a G 50 guitar. Are you sure about the model? Maybe a picture--
Lynne
UPDATE:
Hi, Marty--Thanks for the pics--
The body style is a "Jumbo". Your guitar appers to be a "J 50", rather than an "G 50".
Here is the Blue Book info:
Excellent $1,050 - 1,250
Average $675 - 800
