Gibson Flying V (1990 I think)

by Justice Bob

It's the one in the back that looks kinda blue...

I recently got a purple Gibson Flying V from 1990, most likely a refinished guitar, not really sure about that, I assume a refin because the serial number and "Made In USA" stamps are kinda vague. She's kinda dinged up and has finish loss on the back, serial number is consistent with a Nashville 1990, 91350776.

The V had (non-working) Duncans when I got her, so I dropped a pair of genuine Gibson USA pickups in (490R and 496T). The wiring had been badly messed with.

Also was apparently used as a lefty due to strap-button hole on the treble bout (why do people do this to guitars...)

Has a much darker fretboard than my 05 Explorer, my '89 V and my 1972 SG, possibly an ebony board?

Plays wonderfully and works great with the new pickups, I suspect she's been repeatedly modded over the years, but I think I've got her back where she started (Minus the 500T bridge pickup or whatever Gibson were loading them with back then...)
