Gibson Firebird III Historic Reissue
by David
Hi,
I have a 1999, or so, Gibson Firebird III, it is an historic reissue from the custom shop, in Pelham Blue, with the vibrato. It is in very good shape, but there are some slight chips of paint missing from the headstock. It plays well and sounds very good. I don't have a Gibson case, but an Epiphone case. I have no idea what it's worth, but I thought you might. It has clay dots, not blocks, and that's about all I know about it. Oh, it has a TonePros bridge, not the original.
Sincerely,
David Serchuk
ANSWER
Hi, David--
Here is the Blue Book general info:
1964 FIREBIRD III (HSF3)
- similar to the 1963 Firebird I, except features a bound rosewood fingerboard, tune-o-matic bridge/Maestro vibrola tailpiece, 2 covered mini-humbucker pickups, 2 volume/2 tone controls, 3-way selector (mounted on pickguard on treble bout), available in Vintage Sunburst (VS) finish, part of Historic Collection, mfg. 1998-present.
The Pricing info:
Mint $2,750
Exc. +$2,150
No other pricing values are listed.
**The Firebirds were available in these Custom Colors: Amber Red, Cardinal Red, Frost Blue, Golden Mist, Heather, Inverness Green, Kelly Green, Pelham Blue, Polaris Blue, and Silver Mist finishes.
Add 25% - 50% for custom colors (depending on rarity of the custom color).
**The altered bridge will deduct a considerable amount from the value, as collectors are primarily interested in ORIGINAL guitars.
