Gibson ES 125 TC

by christine
(queensbury ny)

I am trying to find out the year this guitar was made and what the value of it would be?

ANSWER

Hi, Christine--

The serial number indicates that the guitar was manufactured in mid 1965.

It is difficult to be 100% sure about the model from the pic, but it looks like an ES 125 TC. Here are the Blue Book values for that model:

1960-1966

Mint $2,000
Exc.+ $1,650
Exc. $1,300
Avg.+ $1,100
Avg. $950
General $800

The guitar looks to be in excellent to excellent +
condition.

this guitar is not a 125 at all.
it is an ES330T, and probably early 60s bec of dot neck.

ES 125 TC
by: Rich T.

Hello Lynne, are you still there? I have an es 125 tc given to my father by his mother when he came home from Korea. Serial #97743. Rough
condition but Lord can she play. Might solve
years long family debate if I can discover date
of manufacture. Thanks. Rich T.

p.s. Dad passed many years ago but left with me the
gift of music.

ANSWER

Hi, Rich--

I tried the serial number and it comes up not recognized. With these older guitars, you need more info. Try going to

http://www.guitardaterproject.org/gibson.aspx

and fill in all of the info.

The guitar in the picture has a double cutaway. My understanding is that the ES 125 TC was a single cutaway Gibson.
