Challenger 3
by: OriginalElliot

Hey traum can you send me some pictures of your challenger, never seen a black one before. I've seen a red and a White/ cream and they both belonged to Scott :). I would have thought the challenger 3 value is somewhere over that of the s1 and the corvus 3 as they more hard to find .Cheers Elliot.

Gibson Challenger 1983

I have one, but it is completely black. Have not seen or ever found another one with this finish. It is in mint condition although I have played alot - taken fabulous care. Have a Gibson case for it as well.

Anyone else have a black one?

Re: Challenger
by: Scott Grove

Nobody ever mentions the Challenger III. I have the 1984 Challenger III with the 3 single coils, master volume, master tone, 5 way switch etc. Super rare, but they exist. Won't let mine go for anything. I love all of the Gibson Norlin Years, 3 single coil guitars. It's quite the axe. Anybody want to try to put down the values to the Challenger III's?

Faded
by: Anonymous

More than likely it has faded to seafoam green. The original paint was probably a grey or silver color that faded.

Have to recheck #
by: Terri Ogburn

It is elecric and seafoam green.....

ANSWER

Hi, Terri--

Both of the models that I provided info mare electric--the only difference is in how many pickups.

The Blue Book makes no mention of it being available in Seafoam Green.
