I have this same guitar. Bought it new. Been in the case for 25 years without seeing daylight. Been playing it for the past 5 years in our little garage band. Serial #000004. I've looked at a lot of these online throughout the years and I'm going to say, I personally think I have the nicest one out there.

What's it worth? Whatever someone will give you for it. But after seeing others sold for $6,500 not holding a candle to mine, I wouldn't part with it for less than $10 big ones. BUT, when you look at the percent of increase, and not the dollars, it's not bad when considering future value.

My opinion, is buy the most you can afford - it will only go up in value; but if it's a medium grade be VERY careful not to over pay. Best of luck to you.

i have this same guitar, I had bought it in the early seventies it was about 8 years old when i bought it for $200 bucks except for one small detail on the head piece it says PAN instead of Gibson but has the Gibson emblem inlay. Ive tried to get info on it but having a heck of time I know its made in Japan the only number i find is ph35 inside the body
