gibson 056857 inked on head stock

i bought a gibson for 20.00$ at a yard sell from an old man in a retirement area of phoenix. the head stock has an inked number of 056857, the gibson site shows that inking was done early but, there were no 6 digit numbers? it has n duel x tuners, and the face shows to look like an early j-50 with the small pick guard. the back is split mahogany with what looks like rosewood insert. the head stock number if it was stamped in the wood would say it was a 1967.what gives? there are no marks inside of any kind but there seems to be some cloth on the upper side but no writing or marks. it is bowing at the bridge but plays sweet for now. has x bracing near the hole no marks on the truss rod cover. would just like to know what the thing is. the value is more than $20 bucks so i am OK thanks for even an ed. guess!!!!

ANSWER

Hi--

I really cannot venture a guess, especially since I cannot see the rest of the guitar. I am going to go ahead and post this anyway. Maybe some of our readers will have an idea.
