FIrst Band

by Keynin Joiner
(New Orleans, LA., United States)

I am in a band for the first time in my life and I'm finding things very hard to play with the rest of the band. i've been playing piano for 4 years and can find my way though anything but I'm finding it difficult in playing with them.
If we are playing in D, I have to add a 9th in it to make myself sound like something. What should I do?

ANSWER

Hi, Keynin--

I am sorry that you are having so much difficulty. Playing in a band should be a PLEASANT experience.

I would like to help you, but I need more specific information. Exactly WHAT difficulty are you having?

Lynne
